A downloadable meta-tool for jammers

Have you ever felt stressed about your lack of control over the countdown of a game jam? If yes, then Itch Countdown Jammer is the perfect browser extension for you.

Pause the jam's timer and take a break, to resume it later.  Give yourself extra minutes or hours as you see need. Or if you are hardcore & want less time, you can even remove some from the countdown.

Disclaimer: Use this at your own risk. I am not liable for any misuse of the extension leading to you not being able to submit your game to a jam.

Credits: Sought for the name idea.

Meta-entry to GMTK Game Jam 2026 created over the first couple hours of the jam (before moving on to a proper game entry with 7 Segments).
Idea based on DelayLD, a similar meta entry I did for Ludum Dare 50.

Is this a virus?

No, and it would take 2 minutes to check that as it’s only 100 lines of plain javascript & the most basic manifest.json you could make (with no permissions whatsoever).

That’s sad to hear, but it is completely unrelated to this gmtk entry. Even if you don’t trust me, you can always check the javascript code yourself, as it’s only 100 lines long and very basic, and you’ll see that there is nothing in there that could be a virus.
