Alpha 1


This update kinda marks a milestone in the project as even if there isn’t that many changes, the game is slowly getting more fleshed out than a simple prototype. The Steam Page was also published about 10 days ago.

The update itself mainly brings an improved Wave System which now features Special Waves every 5 waves and an improved leaderboards to bring info on how the scores were made. And a few smaller improvements and bug fixes too. The game should still evolve significantly in its balance & game feel in the coming weeks before reaching the next phase of development.

Leaderboards have been reset. Previous High Score was 83k from DAN. It’s possible that there’ll be other resets in future updates if there’s major balance changes.

Changes since Prototype 12

Wave System & Balance

  • Every 5th Wave is now a Reinforced Wave, with extra health but lower speed and less bricks.
  • Reduced Number of Lines per waves from 35+5xWave to 36+4xWave.
  • Reduced Brick Count Increment per Wave from 0.2 to 0.175.
  • Reduced Brick Health Increment per Wave from 0.4 to 0.36.
  • Reduced Speed Increment per Line from 0.006 to 0.005.

Menus & UI

  • Added a Balls column to the Leaderboard. You can now see which build was used to make a score.
  • Added a Wishlist Button on the Main Menu.
  • Credits have been filled a bit.
  • Credits button on the main menu was moved down.
  • Tabs in the Menus (ie. in Leaderboard, Credits and Settings) are a bit more explicit with some separator between them.

Other

  • Menu’s AI now pickups Health.
  • Menu’s AI now tries to pickup XP. It will still prioritize Balls over XP most of the time.
  • Fixed Health & XP bonus not being properly cleared upon starting a new run or leaving one.
  • Fixed a bug where the AI would pick up all upgrades at once.
